Malta Week 3

21/02/2020

I wish it was homesickness not a bad cold, the final week of Malta

Monday started off early with us heading for the catacombs. Traffic was terrible and we found out the 51 bus only starts at 9:30 to medina so we had to wait around for awhile admiring the lovely construction. Upon arrival we went straight to the pavilion to begin working. The facilities were nice to have but i missed having my laptop that i couldn't bring because it would've gotten damaged. The whole experience has made me really considering getting something like an ipad that's more portable. We often had to tell tourists to not enter it was very awkward. Before we got the bus we went to the roman domus, it was the home of a wealth roman family and had artefacts from daily roman life.most of the artefacts are in the catacombs because of robbers but having this gave us more of an idea of the time.

On Tuesday we decided to go to the inquisitor's palace. Luke and I were not in the best of health but we powered through. It is definitely my favourite place we have gone to over the 3 weeks. My favourite part was their Christmas exhibition of nativities from around the world.

On wednesday we stayed at home, to do other assignments and to continue working on work for the catacombs .

Thursday we went to the catacombs again but we were met with a security guard that had no clue that we were there. Just my luck it was the only time i forgot my heritage pass so i hid behind Paige as we had to convince us to let us in. we nearly had to go up to maryrose like children telling on a sibling for him to let us in but he changed his mind. It was a very productive day, we saw 2 geckos and a cat. When we felt like we were finished we decided to go and see maryrose to thank her and to get our contracts but she was just driving off in her car as we were leaving. The next hour was the trail of back and forth trying to find out who had our paperwork with the added pressure it was in the main heritage malta building and rachel was going to gozo the following day.it was a race against time to get our paper work and we got a taxi to retrieve it. I have to say it was a very eventful day compared to the following day.

On our last day we decided to just relax and finish off our work while packing our things.

It was a very productive week and I am looking forward to going back to Ireland to see my family.
